We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and are ready for an exciting Summer Term in Year 5!

In Summer 1, our learning will be largely focused around Rivers and Forces, with children exploring poetry and narrative writing in English, developing their understanding of fractions in Maths, and investigating how and why things move in Science. We are also looking forward to swimming this half term.

​

In Summer 2, we will step back in time to explore the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt. The children will enjoy reading Secrets of the Sun King, learning about properties and changes of materials in Science, and creating Ancient Egyptian death masks in Art.

It is set to be a busy, exciting, and engaging Summer Term, and I am really looking forward to seeing all the progress the children continue to make. As always, please continue to encourage your child to read regularly at home and record their reading in their Star Reading Journal.
